Pete ran a competition, best comic wins $50. After everyone showed up stag, Pete waived his "bring two audience members" prerequisite. There were 9 comics including myself (well, somewhere between 5 and 15: I stopped counting after my second beer.) Everyone did very well. Shawn and Steve split the pot. Shawn went for 12 minutes, and was very funny, but as he went twice as long as everyone else, Pete split the pot between first and second places.

I did the same routine as I did on July 31 with a few enhancements. I'll post my re-write next week. Pete gave me some nice compliments after my set. And I was more confident that I had been before.

There were four senior women in the audience celebrating birthdays together. I won't repeat the content of some of the bits, but it certainly was, anything goes, and wasn't necessarily what one would hear during tea at the Fairmont, which is, possibly, why these ladies came to the Super 8! They weren't complaining.

And, had they been offered the mic, I'm sure they could have made some of us blush.
